VW/Audi 1.5 TSI EA211 Engine
Volkswagen’s new generation EA211TSI evo engine was unveiled at the 37th International Vienna Motor Symposium.
The 1.5-liter TSI is the first model in the new engine lineup. It will be available for purchase in late 2016. Initially, the engine will be available in two tunes: 130hp or 150hp.
This engine is a first, with variable turbine geometry for the turbocharger, and a first for mass-produced spark-fired petrol engines.
New technical innovations have also been made to the engine. The peak torque is available at a very early speed (from 1,300 RPM) and can be used with many machines.
It is claimed that fuel efficiency has been dramatically improved, with a maximum of one liter per hundred kilometers.
This is up to 10% more than the 1.4-liter TSI engine. Volkswagen claims that these improvements in fuel economy are applicable not only under test conditions but also during daily driving.

1.5 TSI Engine Review
The 1.5 TSI engine has four turbo-filled cylinders with direct fuel injection. The actual capacity is 1498m3; cylinder diameter 74.5mm; piston stroke 85.9mm.
350 bar is the maximum injection pressure for a 1.5 TSI engine. This is sufficient to allow the engine’s spark plug to ignite.
An ACT cylinder activation system is available for the 1.5 TSI engine.
This system is similar to the 1.4 TSI engine. The engine operates on two cylinders that are under low load. This allows you to reduce fuel consumption.
The belt controls the timing. The new 1.5 unit is compliant with Euro 6d Temp exhaust standards and has a GPF particulate filtrate filter. It can be used with 0w20 oil.
I recommend that you change the oil at least once a year and a maximum of 15,000km. This engine is the first to offer a sailing mode. The machine will die if you drive at a constant speed without acceleration.
This system works only with an automatic DSG motor. The lithium-ion battery provides the energy needed to operate the electronic system.
